Everyone, Meet Bill Johnson

Sometimes it takes a heartbreaking story to make sure no one else lives through the same. This is a story about one of the 7,000 children who is under the care of one man.

Everyone, meet Bill Johnson, Superintendent of Michigan Children's Institute.

This is probably the first time Bill Johnson, Superintendent of Michigan Children's Institute has been interviewed by television media. WXYZ Channel 7 Detroit, ABC has opened the doors to the state decision process of child wards.

(WXYZ) - We’ve all heard the heartbreaking stories of children abused and neglected in foster homes. A local couple is asking why the state would take their foster child who is also their nephew, a little boy they so desperately love and had hoped to adopt.

Action News investigator Heather Catallo has a rare glimpse into the heart wrenching day the state took Jake away. read more

Let's see if the media is brave enough to do an indepth expose and even interview me.

  1. Bill johnson is a heartless person that could care less about anyone but himself. He thinks he is a god. No love or compassion for any adults or a foster parent.

    1. He does "think" he is a god. He "knows" what is in the best interest of the child because he studied theology and God speaks directly to him. This is why his decisions are never ruled in court as arbitrary and capricious.

  2. Bill johnson thinks he knows what is best for a child. He doesn't stay in the homes with the children to no what is going on he just listens to the agencies and what they tell him. Every wanted to no the truth ask the kids bill.

  3. Even judge's cannot overturn his decisions! He can decide a child living with a loving relative is not profitable enough for the state, so he decides to auction the child off. How can one man have so much power? Maybe when he starts taking away children from leading politicians, then they will see the absurdity of this man.
I was not aware of the absurdity of CPS until an unqualified school nurse called to say that I was not caring for my medical needs child. Even though I proved that I was properly providing for her, & the school was violating almost a dozen federal laws & not caring for my child; CPS took my child to "protect" my child from me! After a while, CPS & the judge realized there was no case, they sent my child home.
Luckily it didn't get to the point that Bill "Hitler" Johnson stepped in!

  4. you do all realize that the State gets paid the same amount of money whether the child is adopted to a relative or non-relative, right?

  5. well and actually all adoptions in Michigan are done by private agencies, so the State literally gets 0 money from adoptions.

  6. I'm going threw this right now. My son was killed in front of my grandson. CPS took the child away. I'm the grandmother and CPS refused to give me my grandson. My sister and my nephew also tried and they still refused. The mother lost her rights because of her drugs and she said I could have him, but CPS said no way. They put him in foster care and she has 8 other children. Were getting ready for the adoption. The adoption worker said she was going to pick us and CPS found out and called Bill Johnson and he told the adoption lady that she better do the best she can to pick the foster family instead of me. Bill Johnson hasn't seen any paper work yet and already made up his mind. When my son was killed CPS looked right at us and said you will never get him, so you mine as well get an attorney because we will make sure you never get him. This foster family has took children from other families as well. They adopted a baby girl and has the sister too and is adopting the sister also and taking my grandson and 2 other boys in her care and doing the same thing. How can 1 family do this. The money she gets every month is a lot and even after there adopted they still gets checks. If you want to know the whole story look up my son William Reddie. He was murdered by a cop. I'm terrified that were going to lose him. There was family from the start and CPS comes in and gives your children to strangers. My grandson screams when he has to leave us. He doesn't understand why he can't live with us. It's been over a year and a huge fight just to see him. We need help and we don't know what to do.

  7. My daughter and her husband had their right termanted and because of DHS not caughting the requirement of back in 1994 when I was put on their central register because my daughter just informed us she was raped and she had a hard time and didn't file safe so she went to live with a teacher for a couple of months. Long story...I have two beauitful grand-daughters, I've been trying to adopt, but the CPS refuses for my to adopt them. My daughter had a drug problem and I just bought a three bedroom trailer to have alots of room for them. But they refuse me and said that they are better off with their foster parents...I'm their grandmother..family, why can't they see they would be better off with family and there would be an open for the foster parents to adopt other children who have no family.

    1. I have given proof and have more to MCI and Lutheran Adoption Agency and they do nothing. The foster family requested our nephew and got him. Because family and friends working in the system, they did not contact family even after hearing about us when our nephew was 3 days old. FBI is involved. I hope they get them from the top to the lowly bottom

  8. Why can't MCI And Lutheran Adoption Agency see family is much more valuable to raising these babies to beneficial adults in our society?
There truly is no one looking out for these children's best interest. Praying someone will intervene and see how unconstitutional this is and how destructive to our society.
Michigan needs to help keep fami

  9. Michigan needs to help keep families together not tear them apart to help some family that wants to build their family through foster care adoption because it pays instead of paying $26000 to adopt through an agency.

There is something incredibly wrong when you give a child to a family wanting to adopt instead if work with the family toward reunification.

  10. What are they thinking? They will come in and take children away at every age but these children are in a foster care home for 6 months and they are too bonded to go back to their real families that have passed every background test/training they fish out?! What?! What?!

  11. We are fighting to keep our foster son in our home right now with his 2 sibings we adopted already! Why? The private agency doesn't feel he is safe but there is NO abuse allegations against us involving him or his brother and sister! And yet we got consent to adopt 2 weeks ago, agency recommended us for adoption and the orders were sitting on the judges desk and they asked them to be removed. So now, all because I proved the agency LYING and submitting false documents, they want to remove our son saying it is in his best interest? Really? How is that when we have raised him since he was 3 weeks old and he turns 2 in 10 days? Praying it all works out because I cannot imagine the pain and trauma him, his siblings and us will face forever! What a way to ruin the memory of Christmas for these poor innocent babies! And they want to place him in another adoptive home with a stranger?????? Really hoping Michigan doesn't let these poor, innocent children down this time!

  12. @fighter we are in a similar situation. I am so sorry to hear this is so common! WE lost because they said our grandson was bonded to his foster family. DHS would not let us bond with him and told us Grandparents have no rights. I am waiting for the MCI but I see how all this works...they work together to take our children.
